To say the LA Chargers have been injury prone this season would be an understatement. The list of injured Chargers is starting to look like a shopping list for Costco, and on Thursday night, standout cornerback Tarheeb Still was added to the fray.
Still was injured late in the game when the final outcome was already decided. This was an unfortunate cherry on top of what was an otherwise enjoyable primetime game for the Chargers. With Derwin James also getting injured, the state of the Chargers' secondary moving forward was seemingly going to be in flux.
Thankfully, Still's injury does not appear to be as serious as Derwin's. While speaking to reporters after the game, Still remedied any true injury concerns with an update every Chargers fan was excited to hear.
Tarheeb Still said that his left knee got hit in a pile but that he's not worried about missing any time with the injury.

"I'll be good though. I'll be great, my bad."
Tarheeb Still quells any injury concerns after Chargers win
It's truly a blessing that Still's injury was nothing more than a minor annoyance that the Chargers were being overly cautious about. Because anything more than that would have been too much for this defense to deal with.
Still is the best cornerback in a secondary that has been hit or miss this season. His on-ball ability is second to none while his overall coverage sets the tone for the rest of the defense. Losing him would be losing a legitimate CB1 that changes the dynamic of the game.
Still has posted a 69.8 Pro Football Focus grade with a coverage grade above 71. Heading into Thursday night, he allowed 19 receptions on 273 coverage snaps. Certainly not too shabby for a second-year mid-round pick.
Add in the likely possibility that James will miss games and the Chargers would have been in a rough spot. The team will still have to overcome the loss of James, which won't be easy, but it is made easier with Still not expected to miss any time.
If there was ever a time to suffer a small, annoying knee injury, it's with the mini bye week ahead. The Chargers now get 10 days of rest before hitting the road to play the Tennessee Titans in Week 9. And if Still's comments are to be taken at face value, he should be suiting up for that game, which is set up for the defense to thrive.
