The LA Chargers' move from San Diego to Los Angeles was one of the most unpopular sports decisions of the last 20 years. However, now that years have gone by, San Diego sports fan are slowly starting to accept the Chargers back into their lives.

This isn't the case for every fan and if you are one of the former fans who is still holding out a grudge we apologize for speaking on your behalf. But for the most part, the wound has healed and the Chargers fanbase is as strong as it has ever been.

If you needed any evidence that the Chargers still hold a special place in San Diego fans' hearts, just look at the team's upcoming training camp practices. For the second year in a row, Jim Harbaugh is bringing the Chargers back to SD to practice. And when the tickets were released for the second week of training camp, the team's first practice at the University of San Diego was the first to sell out.

Granted, there is some context here that is important to make note of. Tuesday's practice, which was the first to sell out, was exclusive to active duty military personnel and veterans. It's also held at a smaller facility than the regular training camp practices.

Some season-ticket holders have revealed that there have been difficulties in getting tickets to the second San Diego practice on Wednesday. At the time of writing this there is no sellout tag, but that may soon change.

It's also important context to add that the first three training camp practices at the Bolt in El Segundo did sell out rather quickly. It's the second week of practices that are lagging behind the team's return back to San Diego.

Either way you slice it, it's impossible to deny that there is interest in the Chargers in the San Diego area. If there wasn't, there wouldn't be such a rush to see the team practice back where it called home for over 50 years.

Doing two practices a year isn't going to be enough to heal the heartbreak that many San Diego fans had when the team moved. For some, moving back to San Diego is the only way to heal that wound. For others, that may not even be enough.

But it is at least a step in the right direction. San Diego and the fans that live there are such an integral part of the team's history. The more the Bolts can give back to that community, and re-welcome a crucial part of the fanbase, the better the team will be for it.
