After years of anticipation, the LA Chargers are finally giving fans what they have wanted: new uniforms. The team announced that two new uniform sets will be added to the rotation in 2025 with the official reveal coming later in July.
There are absolutely no indications about what these uniforms may actually look like. Fans know the Chargers are getting a new alternate helmet but that is the extent of the knowledge. The Chargers can go in various directions, both with the uniforms themselves and with the helmet.
Fans have their theories with many believing the team will go back to the similar white and navy look from the 2000s. Those theories grew even stronger this week, as the Chargers not-so-subtly included a different-looking lightning bolt at the end of their Rodney Harrison Hall of Fame announcement.

Chargers tease the return of the old lightning bolt
The Chargers know what they are doing and the social team wouldn't include a completely different lightning bolt than they usually use in these social media videos.
For context, the Chargers social media team always includes the team logo at the end of videos on social media. That lighting bolt is usually in the powder blue and sunshine yellow primary colors. Here, it's a black background with navy and yellow accents.
The theories are running wild after this release. Does this confirm that the Chargers are going to go back to the old navy look from the mid-2000s? Does this mean that the second alternate uniform is going to be the white and navy look from the same timeframe?
What does the black background have to do with this? Does that mean anything? The Chargers have never had primary black uniforms before and there are many in the fanbase who hope to see them in 2025.
One thing is certain, though: navy is definitely included in the new uniforms. The Chargers would specifically include a lightning bolt with a completely different shade of blue just for the fun of it. They are sending a subliminal message to the fans who are paying attention.
And trust us, we here at Bolt Beat are paying attention.
