The LA Chargers are hoping that a year from now they are the AFC West team preparing to play in the Super Bowl. It may sound far-fetched to some, but with Jim Harbaugh leading the ship, anything is possible.

If the Chargers are going to make that leap the team must utilize the resources it has this offseason in order to build on the foundation laid in 2024. Naturally, that may prompt the Chargers to bring in players who played in this year's Super Bowl.

There are several players on the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles who make sense as potential future Chargers. The Super Bowl may be the last game for these players on their respective team as they could be donning the powder blue next season.

4 Super Bowl players who may become Chargers in 2025:

Chiefs RG Trey Smith

Kansas City guard Trey Smith is atop many fans' wish list this offseason. The only competition for Smith in that regard is Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, who would also have a monumental impact on the Chargers, like Smith.

The Chargers desperately need to solve the center and right guard position and Smith would instantly plug the latter. Smith is the best free-agent guard on the market this offseason and is still getting better at only 25 years old.

It appears the Chiefs will let Smith test free agency this offseason and the Chargers should make their rival pay for that decision. Los Angeles has the means to offer Smith a top-tier guard contract and should not hesitate to do so.

Eagles RG Mekhi Becton

If the Chargers miss out on Smith this offseason then the backup plan could very well be the other starting right guard in this year's Super Bowl, Mekhi Becton. Becton has been a revelation for the Eagles and has earned a payday this offseason in free agency.

The former New York Jets draft bust made the transition from tackle to guard and the results have spoken for themselves. Becton has become extremely important in Philadelphia's rushing attack and has seen his pass-blocking impove as well.

Both Becton and Smith are better at run blocking with the former being slightly worse in pass-blocking than the later. That being said, Becton would still be a better pass-blocker than Trey Pipkins and would level-up the Chargers' rushing attack next season (which is desperately needed).

Harbaugh loves size in the trenches and he may not be able to resist adding a guard with tackle size this offseason.

Chiefs EDGE Josh Uche

A much smaller name than the other two players mentioned, Josh Uche was traded from the New England Patriots to the Kansas City Chiefs during the season. Unfortunately for Uche, he has not been used much in Kansas City and that has tanked his free-agent value this offseason.

That could be a good thing for the Chargers, who now could take a flier on Uche's potential as an edge rusher for a much cheaper cost. Uche may not be doing much for Kansas City but he is still the same 26-year-old edge rusher with potential who recorded 11.5 sacks in a season not that long ago.

Uche is an intriguing possibility for the Chargers due to his ties with Harbaugh. Harbaugh coached Uche at the University of Michigan and knows what it takes to get the most out of him. With the edge-rusher room in flux this offseason, Uche could be a smart flier for the Chargers to take to round out the position.

Eagles DL Milton Williams

Poona Ford and Teair Tart led the way on the interior defensive line for the Chargers and earned new contracts from the team next season. Even if the Chargers re-sign both players, which they should, Milton Williams makes a lot of sense.

Williams is not a great run defender on the inside but that is not where the Chargers would utilize him. Everything Williams lacks in defending the run he more than makes up for in pass rush as he is one of the best interior pass rush players in the sport.

Morgan Fox is also a free agent this offseason and his tenure with the Chargers may be over. Williams would be the perfect player to not only serve as a replacement to Fox, but an upgrade as well.

Williams posted a 90.4 Pro Football Focus pass-rushing grade with 40 pressures this season. His 17.7% win rate was the third best among all interior defensive linemen with at least 300 pass-rushing snaps, trailing only Chris Jones and John Franklin-Meyers.
