For the Los Angeles Chargers, a new era is already in full swing.
A pair of new coordinators— Mike McDaniel and Chris O'Leary— ensures there will be changes on both sides of the ball in 2026. O'Leary should largely mirror Jesse Minter's two-high, zone-heavy scheme (with his own tweaks and expressions, of course). But McDaniel's introduction to the organization means a philosophical shift on the offensive side.
While Keenan Allen was the mouthpiece of the Chargers offense in 2025 under Greg Roman, that need for his skill set no longer exists in Los Angeles. If he were to come back, it would be in a highly minimized role— and that remained a possibility throughout much of the offseason.
But Dan Graziano at ESPN reported earlier this week after his visit to Chargers training camp that it doesn't seem like the organization is expecting to add a veteran receiver before the start of the season. That likely leaves Allen looking for a new home, assuming he wants to continue playing.
But even if there's not a clear fit for Allen in Los Angeles, he still has the possession skill-set and the experience to be a boon to many teams' receiving corps as we enter the new season. Here are three squads who could still give Allen a shot in 2026.

1. New Orleans Saints
The Saints have been pegged as the most likely landing spot for Allen outside of Los Angeles all offseason, and for good reason. With second-year quarterback Tyler Shough looking to bring the team into playoff contention, they need all of the help they can get on the pass-catching front.
Chris Olave is still the lead receiver in New Orleans, and the organization added Jordyn Tyson, Bryce Lance, and Barion Brown as potential rookie contributors. But their current slot receiver, Devaughn Vele, has a limited NFL résumé, and having a veteran such as Allen to operate as a 'security blanket' for Shough could be a major boon to their young receiving corps. Not to mention the ties to Kellen Moore, under whom Allen had a career season in 2023.
There would be snaps available for Allen in New Orleans if the team feels the need to add some juice to their current room.
2. New York Giants
The Giants' current wide receiver room is, let's just say, difficult to evaluate. They have 13 receivers on their 90-man roster, but outside of emerging star Malik Nabers, there's not much to inspire confidence there. They brought in JuJu Smith-Schuster, Odell Beckham Jr., and Braxton Berrios to compete for roster spots during training camp. MalachieFields should present some juice as a rookie, and both Calvin Austin III and Darnell Mooney have room to be maximized as pass catchers within a more dynamic offense.
They likely won't want to add another receiver at this point in the offseason. But if none of Smith-Schuster, Beckham, or Berrios prove they're worth the roster spot by the end of camp, maybe there's room for Allen to slide in there and settle everything down.
3. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are another team whose receiving room feels wide open at this point. They cleaned house this offseason, parting with Jaylen Waddle and much of the talent on their roster outside of De'Von Achane. Three of their projected top-six receivers are currently rookies, with Malik Washington, Tutu Atwell, and Jalen Tolbert locking down the other three spots.
There's some speed there, but there's not much actual intrigue. Bringing someone like Allen in could be a major boon for a young quarterback in Malik Willis who will be desperately trying to keep his head above water for most of the campaign.
