LA Chargers: One dream addition from each NFC West team
By Jason Reed
It is the dog days of summer for the NFL and as a result, we wanted to bring back a fun LA Chargers series that we ran last summer. Last year we picked one player from every NFL team, division-by-division, that would be the perfect fit on the Bolts.
With the Chargers’ roster and needs significantly changing and the league changing as well we thought it would be a fun exercise to do it again. The rules are simple: we are just picking players that would be a great fit for one season on the Bolts. No future projections or contracts. None of these players will obviously be Chargers, it is mostly just a fun exercise.
If that is not your thing then I totally get it, hopefully, you enjoy the other content here at Bolt Beat. If you want to check out last year’s version of the NFC West article you can find it here.
One dream LA Chargers addition from each NFC West team:
Seattle Seahawks: DK Metcalf
Things are obviously different now as the LA Chargers have Justin Herbert starting under center and we are all sure that he is the real deal. Even though Russell Wilson is the better quarterback at this point in time, it would make no sense to take him with Herbert as they already have a quarterback that is good enough to pilot them to the Super Bowl.
Instead, it would be extremely captivating to see DK Metcalf in the receiving corps. His overall numbers would go down as he would be joining an offense loaded with weapons but he would still make the Chargers so dynamic. He is essentially a much better version of Tyron Johnson.
Metcalf is one of the fastest players in the league and he would pair perfectly with Justin Herbert’s rocket arm for plenty of deep-bomb touchdowns. With him and Mike Williams outside and Keenan Allen in the slot, the LA Chargers would have the best offense in football.
