Last summer we ran a series here at Bolt Beat in which we picked a player from every single team that would be the dream player for the LA Chargers to steal for a season if they could. This year we are running the same series and comparing the results from last year.

The Chargers have changed, other teams have changed and the players on each team have changed their value. All three players were different in the AFC West version of this article.

If you want to check out our breakdown of all the choices from last season you can find last year’s AFC North story here.

One dream player for the LA Chargers to steal from each AFC North team:

Pittsburgh Steelers: T.J. Watt

Last year’s choice: Alejandro Villanueva

The Pittsburgh Steelers have one of the best defenses in the entire league and there are several different great defensive players to choose from. The idea of adding Minkah Fitzpatrick to the secondary alongside Derwin James truly is intriguing.

Just imagine what Brandon Staley could do with the pairing of James and Fitzpatrick.

At the end of the day, I will take the edge rusher nearly every time as an edge rusher tends to be more impactful on the game. The Chargers would be stealing one of the best in the business in T.J. Watt, who would instantly form the best pass-rushing duo in the league next to Joey Bosa.

It would legitimately be unfair for teams to have to come up against a pass-rush of Bosa and Watt and this pairing would instantly make the Chargers one of the best defensive teams in the league. As much as I love Uchenna Nwosu, Watt makes that big of a difference.
