LA Chargers: One dream player to add from each AFC West team
By Jason Reed
Denver Broncos: Bradley Chubb
Stolen player last year: Justin Simmons
It was a legitimate toss-up between Bradley Chubb and Justin Simmons and at the end of the day, we decided to go against who we picked last year and go with the dynamic pass rusher that is Bradley Chubb. Quite frankly, though, there is no wrong answer between the two Denver Broncos defensive players.
Justin Simmons is one of the most underrated safeties in the league and his presence alongside Derwin James in Brandon Staley’s split-zone scheme would be legitimately terrifying. But hey, maybe Nasir Adderley can shock the world and be that ball-hunting safety that we all expected him to be out of college.
Bradley Chubb fits a bigger need for the LA Chargers with Melvin Ingram no longer on the team. Uchenna Nwosu has been tasked with being the team’s second pass rusher on the opposite side of Joey Bosa. Some fans really like Nwosu, I am not sold on him being an every-down contributor.
Chubb would absolutely be a contributor and is an even better edge rusher than Ingram was in those last two seasons. Joey Bosa and Bradley Chubb would be a truly unfair pairing and would be even better than the Chubb-Von Miller pairing in Denver.
Chubb responded from an injury-plagued second season with his first Pro Bowl season, recording 7.5 sacks in 14 games. The numbers were not as impressive as his rookie season but his impact was felt nonetheless.
