Expectations are high for the LA Chargers in 2021 after Justin Herbert had a record-setting rookie season and the Chargers hired one of the sharpest defensive minds in football, Brandon Staley, to be the head coach.

The Chargers have the necessary pillars to be a Super Bowl-contending team but they still are yet to prove it. Until they prove it on the field, we cannot realistically call them legitimate contenders.

That does not mean that we cannot be excited about the team and the players that are on the roster. While the Chargers have a lot of talented players to be excited about, there are also players who slipped through the cracks and would be perfect on this team.

Here are three former, active, LA Chargers who would be perfect on the 2021 roster:

1. Younghoe Koo

Pick your poison. Younghoe Koo or Josh Lambo. Either would be much better than Michael Badgley and the LA Chargers let both of them go, letting Lambo go for Koo. For the sake of this article, we are only picking one of the kickers and we are going with Koo.

The only reason why Koo gets the nod over Lambo is due to Lambo missing 11 games last season. Who knows how that impacts him moving forward and I would rather take the healthy kicker who just led the league in field goals.

It made sense to cut Koo after how bad he was for the Chargers, so we cannot really blame the front office for that decision. The questionable one was releasing Lambo for Koo when Lambo was not that bad in 2016 and Koo literally had zero NFL experience.

But hey, now the Bolts are stuck with Michael Badgley, who will be competing with an UDFA for his job this season.
