Week 14: New York Giants at LA Chargers

If you read my Chargers’ opponent quarterback rankings then you know how I feel about Daniel Jones. He is not a good quarterback and that is a hill that I am willing to die on. By the time the Chargers play the New York Giants in Week 13 I think we will be talking about whether or not the Giants are going to draft his replacement.

They probably should. Jones is a turnover machine and is not cut out to be the quarterback of a winning football team. He alone makes the Giants bad enough for this to be considered a trap game for the LA Chargers.

Why this is a trap game:

I am assuming that the Chargers will at least be in the playoff picture at this point in the season and every game is going to be huge. However, a week after this game the Chargers are going to be hosting the division-rivaled Kansas City Chiefs.

I do not think it is reasonable to think that the Chargers could win the division but who knows? If Brandon Staley exceeds expectations and the Chiefs get banged up it certainly is possible. While unlikely, the Week 15 matchup could have division implications.

That makes this game the ultimate trap game. The Chargers are coming up against, arguably, the worst starting quarterback in the NFL a week before hosting the best starting quarterback in the NFL.

The Giants have a good enough defense to shock the Chargers, so long that Daniel Jones does not blow it if the Bolts are overlooking them.

Next. 3 positions to still target in free agency

The Giants will probably have a bad record but they will be more dangerous than their record indicates because of that defense.
