Week 9: LA Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles

If you read my week-by-week record prediction then you know I do not think the Philadelphia Eagles are a very good football team. While Jalen Hurts has potential, there are holes in his game and I am not sold on Nick Sirianni.

I predicted the Chargers to win in an ugly game that is way closer than it should be. This game has trap game written all over it.

Why this is a trap game:

Philadelphia being a bad football team instantly checks off the first box of a trap game. I genuinely don’t think there is a single part of the Eagles’ roster that I like more than the Chargers’ roster as it currently stands.

Then we look at the surrounding weeks. The Chargers will (hopefully) be coming off of a great feel-good win over the New England Patriots that serves as revenge for the blowout last year. The Chargers have a bye week in Week 7, so you know the team is going to have a complete game plan vs. New England.

After the Eagles game is two big home matchups. The Chargers are hosting the Minnesota Vikings, who should be in the playoff running, then host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football.

This is going to be an important stretch of the season for the Chargers and of the four games, the one game that is extremely easy to overlook is the game against Philadelphia.
