The LA Chargers made nine selections in the 2021 NFL Draft and made some surprising picks in the process. The first two selections were certainly surprising, as the Bolts landed both Rashawn Slater and Asante Samuel Jr. Neither of which were expected to fall to LA.

Some of the later picks were surprising as well. Josh Palmer was not on many people’s radar, Tre’ McKitty was not the most preferred tight end and many expected the team to take a safety and they did not.

The Chargers welcome in a handful of new players between the draft and undrafted free agents. Here are the current Chargers whose jobs are in the most jeopardy following these additions.

LA Chargers whose jobs are in jeopardy after the 2021 NFL Draft:

1. Michael Badgley

The LA Chargers signed Pitt kicker Alex Kessman as an undrafted free agent. While Kessman had some accuracy issues, he has a monster leg and was one of the best kickers in the entire country from beyond 50 yards. Michael Badgley is noticeably poor from 50 yards out.

I already tabbed Kessman as the UDFA that could have the biggest impact on the LA Chargers and that will be true if he beats Badgley for the job. It is safe to say that Charger fans are not happy with Badgley’s performance from last season and with a new coaching staff he will not get the benefit of the doubt.

It will be a competition in camp and the preseason but if Badgley does not show up then he is going to be out of a job.
