The first round of the 2021 NFL Draft is officially in the books and it was a great day for the LA Chargers. After weeks of analysis from pundits, bloggers and fans alike, the LA Chargers ended up selecting the player that nobody expected to fall to them: Rashawn Slater.

Slater is the final touch on what has been an offensive line revamp for the Chargers this offseason. The front office has replaced four of the five starters from last season. Slater can play anywhere on the offensive line but he will most likely play left tackle.

It was a rather slow day for the Chargers in terms of movement, and for the right reasons. The Chargers had no reason to move in either direction in the NFL Draft. The Detroit Lions got Penei Sewell and the Chargers could not pass up on Slater by moving down. It was conventional, but perfect.

That does not mean the rest of the draft will be conventional for the LA Chargers.

There are some big names still on the board as the second and third rounds get underway on Friday. Just because the team did not move in either direction does not mean that they are going to stay put on day two.

In fact, it makes it more likely that the team would make a bold move as they still have draft capital to trade.

With that in mind, here are two bold predictions for the LA Chargers in rounds two and three of the 2021 NFL Draft; both of which being exclusive of each other. Both of these predictions cannot happen, but it would be great if one did.
