The Houston Texans’ interesting offseason has continued as the team released long-time star defensive end, J.J. Watt, from his contract, per his request. Watt was entering the last year of his deal and it was pretty clear following Week 17 that he would not be in Houston in 2021.

Practically every team that has cap space spend to spend should at least inquire about Watt, including the LA Chargers. While the Bolts have an entire offseason to navigate through, it does not hurt to at least check in on Watt.

Watt is going to have a long list of teams to pick from this offseason, each with their own pros and cons. From Watt’s perspective, here are three reasons why he should be interested in the LA Chargers.

1. Getting to play alongside Joey Bosa on the LA Chargers defensive line

This might be more of something that fans would get excited about but Watt has never played alongside someone as talented as Joey Bosa. We saw how good he was with Jadeveon Clowney, just imagine how fun it would be seeing him play alongside Joey Bosa.

Watt is not in prime form anymore but that is even more of a reason to want to play alongside someone such as Bosa. Bosa would keep Watt from getting double-teamed and could help give Watt a great second act to his career.
