Best fits for LA Chargers quarterback Tyrod Taylor: 1. Seattle Seahawks

This is such a perfect fit for both sides that I would legitimately give the Seahawks just as high of a chance of signing Taylor as the other four teams on this list combined. This is a signing that makes sense for both parties, especially if the Seattle Seahawks make the speculative hirings that Charger fans are kind of expecting.

First of all, Geno Smith is a free agent this season and while he was never asked to play significant snaps, Seattle still shouldn’t pass up the chance to get a better backup quarterback. Tyrod Taylor is absolutely, 100% a much better quarterback than Geno Smith.

Seattle’s season would essentially be over if Russel Wilson got injured with Smith as the backup, especially in the NFC West. With Tyrod, depending on when the injury happens, there is absolutely a path to 9-10 wins still.

Second of all, it appears fairly likely that the Seahawks will hire someone from the Chargers’ operation. Shane Steichen, Pep Hamilton and even Anthony Lynn have been linked to Seattle’s offensive coordinator job. Pete Carroll wants to run the bal more, a philosophy that Lynn and Steichen could certainly get behind.

If Steichen or Hamilton goes to Seattle then I would bet that there is a really good chance of Tyrod following. If Lynn goes to Seattle then I personally think it would just be a matter of time until Tyrod follows suit.

Lynn and Tyrod seemingly have a great relationship and we know how good of a player’s coach Lynn is. For a quarterback like Tyrod Taylor, who may only get backup job offers, that could be a massive decider.
