Notable stats

With the Chiefs likely resting most of their starters, so a lot of their stats from this season become pretty irrelevant, but let’s take a look at some guys who will get some playing time. In his two seasons with the Chiefs, Chad Henne has completed seven of ten pass attempts for 69 yards.

The former Dolphins and Jaguars quarterback has thrown for just under 13,000 yards in his career, throwing for 58 touchdowns and 63 interceptions with a passer rating of 75.6 for his career.

Darrel Williams is someone who could also see a lot of playing time in this matchup. In 2020, Williams has taken 39 carries for 169 yards and one touchdown. He has also brought in 17 receptions for 114 yards.

Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce are some players who could sit out of this matchup, but even without them, their offense still has some solid weapons. Mecole Hardman is a major deep threat for the Chiefs and could see more targets in this game.

He has brought in 39 receptions for 535 yards and four touchdowns. Another receiving option for Henne will likely be Demarcus Robinson. Robinson would likely be a third receiving option for most teams in the NFL but the Chiefs have so many solid weapons that he ranks fifth on the team in targets while recording 408 yards and three touchdowns.

It is not confirmed how much playing time most of the Chiefs’ top offensive weapons will play but Le’Veon Bell, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Sammy Watkins, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill are all major pieces of this Chiefs’ offense and will have big impacts if they play in this matchup.

The Chiefs defense is ranked in the middle of the league in many defensive statistics but they do play aggressively, which has rewarded them plenty of times throughout the season. They rank seventh in the NFL in total takeaways and fifth in turnover differential.

While they do force turnovers at a high rate, they also have committed the sixth most defensive penalties in the league. If they do play in this matchup, guys like Frank Clark, Chris Jones and Tyrann Mathieu are huge playmakers for this Chiefs defense and are a big reason for their success.

Both teams will be resting some of their top players in a meaningless Week 17 matchup so we will be seeing a lot of younger guys out there trying to earn a spot on the roster for next season.
