LA Chargers: Getting to know the Kansas City Chiefs

Chiefs’ recent performances

The Chiefs head into the regular-season finale with a record of 14-1 and have won their last 10 games.

In Week 13, the Chiefs defeated the Denver Broncos 22-16. The Chiefs offense totaled 447 yards but struggled to put points on the board their only touchdown of the game came on a 20-yard pass to Travis Kelce. Harrison Butker was perfect on all five of his field-goal attempts as he led the Chiefs to a win over the Broncos.

The Chiefs beat the Miami Dolphins 33-27 in Week 14. Mahomes threw for 393 yards and two touchdowns but also threw three interceptions. Travis Kelce brought in eight receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown while Tyreek Hill had three catches for 79 yards and a score. Even with committing three turnovers, Mahomes and the Chiefs were able to outscore Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins.

The Chiefs picked up their 13th win of the season after defeating the New Orleans Saints 32-29 in Week 15. The Chiefs defense was able to hold the Saints offense to under 300 total yards and scored a touchdown following a Drew Brees interception early in the first quarter to help them take down the Saints.

In one of Mahomes’ worst performances of the year, the Chiefs were still able to beat the Atlanta Falcons this past week to pick up their 14th victory of the season. Mahomes completed just 54% of his passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns while throwing an interception.

The Chiefs also attempted a trick play as Sammy Watkins threw a pass to Mahomes that was also intercepted. The Chiefs defense sacked Matt Ryan four times and Younghoe Koo missed the game-tying kicked with 14 seconds left leading to the Chiefs win.
