The LA Chargers season is essentially over and Charger fans should be focused on another Week 14 matchup.

We do not blame any fans that do not want to watch anymore LA Chargers games this season. This season has been a massive disappointment and it has become extremely frustrating to watch how poorly this team is run.

At this point in the season, there are two things that Charger fans really should be rooting for. First is for Justin Herbert to continue his great level of play to round-up a fantastic rookie season, hopefully breaking some of the rookie records that he is on pace to break.

Second, fans realistically should be rooting for the Bolts to lose. While there is a slim chance of it happening, the Chargers still could find their way high enough in the NFL Draft order to select Oregon’s Penei Sewell, the hands-down best offensive line prospect in the draft.

It is Penei Sewell and everybody else. Justin Herbert’s former teammate is that good.

MUST-READ: Four Chargers that should not return in 2021

One win would derail the Chargers’ chances of getting Penei Sewell and they need some help from other teams as well. Two of the teams that they need help from play in Week 14, making it the must-watch game for Charger fans this season.

LA Chargers fan must watch the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Dallas Cowboys

I know, this sounds like one of the ugliest NFL matchups this season and the quarterback play in this game is going to be atrocious. However, this game is going to have a big impact on the Chargers’ draft order, regardless of the impact.

If the Cincinnati Bengals can beat the Dallas Cowboys then there is a legitimate chance that the Chargers could sneak up to the third overall pick. LA would have to lose out and Dallas would have to win one of its last three games.

Dallas plays the 49ers, Eagles and Giants to round out the season. They certainly could win one of those games, locking the Chargers in for the third overall pick.

If Dallas wins this game then that guarantees that the LA Chargers will pick in the top four of the 2021 NFL Draft — again, assuming that the Bolts lose out. Philadelphia is the only other team with just three wins but they have a tie, giving them a better record than the Bolts.

Of course, if the Chargers win then it becomes a moot point. But when it comes to the 2021 NFL Draft, this Bengals-Cowboys game really could be the difference between Penei Sewell and Gregory Rousseau (or trading down).

It will be an interesting one. For the best-case scenario, LA Chargers fans should be rooting for the Bengals.
