LA Chargers: Getting to know the Week 14 opponent, the Atlanta Falcons

Falcons’ Recent Performances
The Falcons started their 2020 season 0-5 but have gone 4-3 since. Over their last four games, they beat the Broncos and Raiders while losing to the Saints twice. The Falcons come into this matchup with a record of 4-8.
In their 34-27 victory over the Broncos in Week 9, Matt Ryan threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns. Olamide Zaccheaus brought in four receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown while Julio Jones and Bilal Powell also added a receiving touchdown.
The Falcons went into the fourth quarter with a 27-6 lead. The Broncos battled back, scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter, but their comeback came short as they fumbled on fourth down with under one minute left.
In Week 11, the Saints beat the Falcons 24-9. Taysom Hill started this game for the Saints as Drew Brees was put on the IR with multiple broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Hill carried the ball 10 times for 51 yards and two touchdowns while Michael Thomas helped him out through the air bringing in nine receptions for 104 yards.
Alvin Kamara added the third touchdown of the game for the Saints. The Saints’ defense was able to shut down Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense as they held them to 248 total yards and brought him down eight times. Ryan also threw two interceptions which led to the Saints’ win.
The Falcons dominated Derek Carr and the Raiders in their Week 12 matchup 43-6. Younghoe Koo was perfect on the day going 5-5 on his field goal attempts while Matt Ryan threw two touchdowns. The Falcons defense was dominant as they sacked Carr five times and forced five turnovers, including a 67-yard pick-six by Deion Jones.
The Saints completed the season sweep of the Falcons as they won 21-16 in Week 13. Taysom Hill threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns. Michael Thomas brought in nine receptions for 105 yards, while Tre’Quan Smith, Jared Cook and Alvin Kamara added touchdowns.
