Following one of the worst losses in franchise history, the LA Chargers will host the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14.

It was another brutal loss for the LA Chargers this past weekend as they suffered one of their worst losses in franchise history. The special teams’ woes continued as Gunner Olszewski returned three punts for a total of 145 yards and a touchdown for the Patriots.

Michael Badgley also missed two kicks on the day, including one that was blocked and returned for a touchdown at the end of the first half. The punt return team also lined up with the wrong number of players three times throughout the game.

The offense could not get anything going as Justin Herbert and the offense put up their worst performance of the season tallying 258 total yards and no points. The defense allowed Damien Harris and Cam Newton to run all over them as the two combined for 128 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

This Week 14 matchup between the Falcons and the Chargers will feature two of the NFL’s better offenses. However, neither of them have been able to close out games and they come in with a combined record of 7-15. The 2020 season has been disappointing for both teams but each offense has a favorable matchup.

Last Five Matchups

The Falcons have dominated the Chargers in the series-winning eight out of ten games, including four of the last five meetings. The Chargers’ last win against the Falcons came in 2016, where they won 33-30 in overtime. Denzel Perryman was the hero of this game as he picked off Matt Ryan late in the fourth quarter which set up Josh Lambo’s game-tying kick.

In overtime, Perryman stopped Devonta Freeman on fourth-and-1. Following the big stop, Josh Lambo connected on his fourth field goal of the game giving the Chargers the win.
