3. Michael Badgley

After a really solid start to his LA Chargers career, Michael Badgley has fallen off the rails a bit in 2020 and has had a really bad season. This has lost the faith of all Charger fans and should prompt the team to move on from the kicker after this season.

Back on October 2, at which point Badgley had made 10 of 11 kicks, I wrote an article detailing why the LA Chargers might have an undercover kicking problem. The essence of the article was about how Anthony Lynn did not trust Badgley from 50 yards or more, putting the team in precarious situations.

I did not expect Badgley to outright regress after this. If you follow us over on Twitter then you know that we tweet the article out every time he misses a kick and each time it provides some laughs, as unsuspecting fans don’t realize how old the article is and laugh at us for saying the problem is “undercover”.

Since that article was posted Badgley has made just 11 of his 17 field-goal attempts (granted, one was blocked). He has also missed three extra-points since October 2.

The worst miss was against the New Orleans Saints when Justin Herbert and the Bolts had a chance to shock New Orleans on Monday Night Football. Badgley had a game-winning 50-yard attempt that he clanked off the upright, which led to the team losing in overtime.
