Justin Herbert is primed for a big day against the New England Patriots and fantasy football owners will be happy.

Justin Herbert has been a fantasy football revelation this season. He single handily has saved countless seasons for owners that did not snag a good quarterback in the draft only to pick Herbert up after Week 2.

For those that drafted in the late rounds just in case, I commend you.

Herbert has been mostly electric thus far in his short NFL career but that does not mean that he is guaranteed to have a massive day. He only registered 16.44 points last week with only one touchdown pass and barely scratched 20 points against the Miami Dolphins.

However, we have also seen him hit as high as 38 points, doing so against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7.

Week 13 is going to produce another 30-point week for Justin Herbert, which might sound absurd considering he is coming up against Bill Belichick and a defense that allows only 16.3 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks — the seventh-lowest in the league.

The Patriots play right into Herbert’s hands, though. First off, the Patriots have the second-highest explosive pass rate allowed in the league, according to Sharp Football Statistics. If there is any quarterback that loves to sling it for an explosive pass play, it is Justin Herbert.

The game is also being played at SoFi Stadium. Aside from it being indoors and naturally favoring a passing attack, Justin Herbert is absolutely stellar at home. Herbert has passed for over 300 yards in each of his home starts this season.

The only 300-yard game he has had away from home was this past week against Buffalo, which would not have been a 300-yard game if the team did not complete a miracle hail mary on fourth and 29.

With that knowledge, even though he is coming up against Patriots’ defense that is not friendly to quarterbacks, I would urge that starting Justin Herbert this week is absolutely the move.

I project Herbert to pass for 350 yards with three touchdowns and 40 rushing yards, putting him at exactly 30 points scored on FanDuel and 33 points on DraftKings.
