The first half of the 2020 season has not been very kind to the LA Chargers.

The LA Chargers are officially halfway through their 2020 season and things have not gone as planned for the team. The Chargers are 2-6 on the season, losing all six games by seven points or fewer.

While some Charger fans might be still holding onto hope, the fact of the matter is that the NFL Playoffs are now out of the picture. First, we cannot expect the Chargers to win every game that they should win the rest of the way. Second, no team since the NFL-AFL merger has made the playoffs after a 2-6 start.

But can the Bolts at least right the ship? With half of the season in the books, here is how the second half could end up.

Week 10 vs. Miami Dolphins: Loss

I know that this might be an unpopular opinion but I do not expect the Chargers to win in Week 10 against the Miami Dolphins. The team historically struggles on the road against Miami, especially in 1 p.m. games.

The storyline of this game will be Justin Herbert vs. Tua Tagovailoa but it will ultimately be the Chargers’ special teams and defense that loses the game. Miami is a sneaky good team, the Chargers cannot finish wins.

Week 11 vs. New York Jets: Win

C’mon now. The New York Jets are terrible. I am already worried about this game because I know it will be way closer than it should be and every single one of us will be sweating at some point, but the Chargers simply have too much talent to lose at home against the Jets when they are better off losing for the first overall pick.

If they lose this game and move to 2-8 then I might just retire from writing about the Chargers.

Record after 10 games: 3-7
