The 2-5 LA Chargers take on the 4-3 Las Vegas Raiders at SoFi Stadium in Week 9.

The LA Chargers have a minuscule chance of saving their season and getting into the playoff hunt and if they are going to they need to start racking up the wins, starting in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Chargers need the win to improve to three wins on the season but also need the win as the Raiders will also be in the thick of the AFC Playoff picture. Then the Chargers would have to go on and not lose any games in typical Charger fashion, which might be hard to do with this coaching staff.

This is also important for the team as they have been absolutely dreadful against their AFC West counterparts. The Chargers have now lost eight consecutive division games, with the last division win occurring in Week 17 of 2018 — a 23-9 win over the Denver Broncos.

The Raiders are not the Raiders of old and do not present an easy task. The team has some really big wins over teams such as the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs and even hung in there with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, although a terrible fourth quarter made that game seem like a blowout.

We hate to admit it but the Raiders are good. They have beaten three teams this year that the Chargers could not beat (Carolina Panthers, Saints and Chiefs) and will be salivating at the chance to essentially end the LA Chargers season in Week 9.

It is an intriguing matchup. Here are my three bold predictions for the game.
