The LA Chargers will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7 at home.

The LA Chargers blew another three-score lead in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints, making it back-to-back losses while having a 17-point lead. Justin Herbert was incredible yet again as he threw for 264 yards and broke the single-game touchdown record for a rookie on Monday Night Football with four passing touchdowns.

Herbert and the Chargers went into the half up 20-10 but Drew Brees got hot in the second half to tie the game at 20-20.

Herbert connected with Mike Williams for a 64-yard touchdown to retake the lead with just under four minutes left. Brees and the Saints tied the game at 27 leaving Herbert with a chance to get his first career win with 47 seconds left.

After a huge completion in double coverage to Williams along the left sideline, Michael Badgley hit the right upright which sent the game to overtime.

The Saints had no trouble marching down the field as they did for the entire second half, but the Chargers defense continued with their bend but don’t break mentality as they forced the Saints to take the go-ahead field goal.

The Chargers drove down to just about midfield where they were faced with a fourth and seven. Williams caught a slant and ended up being half of a yard short of the line to gain, ending the game. The Chargers are now 1-4 heading into this matchup.

Last Five Matchups

The Chargers have dominated the Jaguars in their 11 meetings. They have won eight out of 11, including four of the last five with their only loss coming in overtime in 2017. Their last meeting came last year as the Chargers defeated the Jaguars 45-10.

Philip Rivers torched the Jaguars defense throwing for 314 yards and three touchdowns and Austin Ekeler totaled 213 yards and a touchdown on only 12 touches.
