1. LaDainian Tomlinson

Not only is LaDainian Tomlinson number one on this list, but he was the only running back in franchise history (post-merger) to have a touchdown in his first career game with the Chargers. That is where the true history lies. Joshua Kelley joins LaDainian Tomlinson in the exclusive group.

LT is the greatest player in franchise history (if not LT then it is Junior Seau) and is one of the greatest running backs in the history of the game. Comparing Kelley to him is silly and that is not what we are doing, but it is crazy to think of all the running backs that did not accomplish what LT and Kelley accomplished.

Tomlinson had himself a game way back in 2001 as well. The Pro Football Hall of Famer had 125 yards from scrimmage, 113 of which coming on the ground and 12 of which coming through the passing game. Not only did he find the end-zone, but he found the end-zone twice.

LT’s first career game is really so much higher than the other games on this list and that is indicative of the fact that he is one of the greatest running backs of all-time.

However, to be included in a list with LT is already a great sign for Kelley and being the first running back to score a touchdown in their first game since LT is an even bigger accomplishment.

Next. Three areas to improve from Week 1 to Week 2

Something is telling us that this Joshua Kelley kid might be pretty good after all.
