The LA Chargers injury report for Week 1 is a bit concerning.

The LA Chargers released the inactive list for Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals via Twitter and Charger fans got a tough blow.

Jason Moore, Trevaughn Campbell, Mike Pouncey, Trai Turner, Storm Norton, Donald Parham and Cortez Broughton are all inactive on Sunday.

The two names that instantly jump off the page is Mike Pouncey and Trai Turner. Charger fans already knew that Pouncey was out of action in Week 1 but the addition of Turner is concerning as well.

With Dan Feeney playing at center because of Pouncey, the Chargers left guard, center and right guard are all essentially backup options. Forrest Lamp will start at left guard and Ryan Groy will start at right guard in place of Trai Turner, per Daniel Popper of The Athletic.

Another name on the list that might be overlooked is Storm Norton. Norton is the Chargers’ swing tackle and while it won’t hurt the starting unit, it could have some big repercussions. Bryan Bulaga was listed as questionable leading into today, indicated he is not 100 percent and if anything happens to Bulaga, the team is going to have to turn to Trey Pipkins at right tackle.

Sam Tevi and Trey Pipkins as the tackles do not sound like a fun time.

The silver lining of the LA Chargers injury report

There is some good news about this inactive list as it confirmed that Bulaga will be active. But as we mentioned, he is not 100 percent, but it is promising that he is good enough to go in Week 1.

Mike Williams was also not on the list, which is great news. Williams was also questionable leading into Sunday with a shoulder strain and he will be a part of the offense in Week 1. However, it is likley that Williams will be on some sort of snap count.

Cincinnati Bengals inactives: Geno Atkins, Shawn Williams, Markus Bailey, Torry McTyer, LeShaun Sims, Trayveon Williams, Shaq Calhoun.

The LA Chargers do not have to deal with Geno Atkins in Week 1, which does make the day easier on the interior offensive line. Atkins against a backup interior offensive line would have been a disaster for the Chargers.
