Who is the best of the best on the LA Chargers roster?

With the LA Chargers‘ Week 1 game now officially being one week away, we here at Bolt Beat decided to rank the top 10 players on the Chargers roster as a collective group.

The Bolt Beat staff each ranked their top 10 most talented (not most important, there is a clear distinction) players on the roster this season. We then came up with a consensus ranking for each player based on the average ranking by the staff.

This is the same method we used to rank Tyrod Taylor alongside all 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL.

Honorable mentions:

Drue Tranquill, Kenneth Murray and Rayshawn Jenkins all received at least one top 10 vote from the staff but did not crack the collective top 10.

10. Trai Turner

  • Highest ranking: Eighth
  • Lowest ranking: Not ranked

Trai Turner barely sneaks into the top 10 as he was included in most of the lists by the Bolt Beat staff, but not all. The highest that he was ranked was eighth by Tyler Gallagher while yours truly did not have him in the top 10.

Turner is absolutely one of the most important players on the LA Chargers and if he reaches the ceiling that he has reached in previous years then he will absolutely be on the top 10 list that we do after the season.

However, my biggest concern about Turner is that he is coming off of the worst year of his career and his Pro Bowl selection is a bit misleading. He can easily turn that around under James Campen, though.
