Can we pinpoint three keys for the LA Chargers to make the NFL Playoffs?

The LA Chargers had one of the most successful regular seasons just two years ago. The team had the joint-best record in the AFC at 12-4 and won a playoff game in the AFC Wild Card Round against the Baltimore Ravens that many were ruling them out of.

The team ran into Bill Belichick and Tom Brady a week later, but at that point, it felt like the Chargers were absolutely talented enough to make a run at the Super Bowl. That season was supposed to add momentum to a franchise that had not made the playoffs in five years.

It didn’t. The team went the exact opposite direction in 2019 and only won five games. They were in almost every single ball game but oftentimes found new and innovative ways to lose — oftentimes via costly turnovers.

This season is completely different. The Chargers have a young, talented core and also have a change at the quarterback position with Tyrod Taylor starting this year under center.

The Chargers are talented enough to be a playoff team and with seven playoff teams in each conference now, it will be a bit easier. But what are the keys for the Chargers to return to games that really matter?

Things such as fewer turnovers are obvious and will happen with the quarterback change. The Chargers need more than just fewer turnovers. Here are the three playoff keys that we have pinpointed.
