There are some intriguing members of the LA Chargers roster.

The LA Chargers are a very intriguing team heading into 2020. The team is undergoing a quarterback change for the first time since 2006 and is just two years removed from having the joint-best record in the AFC.

However, they are also a year removed from being the most disappointing team in the league and losing 11 games. With the Chargers, we never really know what to expect, they always seem to be one of the league’s biggest wild cards.

Part of that intrigue this season pertains to the roster. There are specific players on the Chargers roster who are really intriguing x-factors that could be the difference from a seven-win season or a 10-win season.

I think it is safe to say that it is hard to pinpoint exactly how much these x-factor players will produce, hence the intrigue.

Most intriguing x-factors on the LA Chargers: OT Trey Pipkins

Not many Charger fans are too thrilled about Trey Pipkins having a big role in 2020. If everything goes as planned, or so we think, Trey Pipkins will be the team’s starting left tackle with Bryan Bulaga on the right side.

Of course, there are other options at left tackle, including Bulaga himself, but Pipkins is definitely the most intriguing.

The Chargers believe in Pipkins and I cannot say I blame them for having that faith. They selected him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft as a developmental tackle and after some starting looks last season, Pipkins might be ready to be a tangible NFL starting tackle.

He showed good flashes last year in being capable of doing so. However, he also showed how raw he was at times with some massive mistakes that allowed pressure to the quarterback.

Can Pipkins take that next step? Is he ready to be an every-down starting left tackle? We won’t know until we see it in action.
