How the LA Chargers can beat the Las Vegas Raiders: Implement a pass-first offense

The LA Chargers are going to have a different offensive outlook in 2020. The team is not going to be using its gunslinging offense that accompanied Philip Rivers over the last few seasons and instead is likely going to be more run-heavy.

Tyrod Taylor is a dual-threat quarterback and with a solid running back room, the hope seems to be that the team can implement an offensive style that is meticulous and chews clock.

However, against certain teams that is going to have to change and the Raiders are one of those teams. If the Chargers want to maximize their offensive output, the team is going to have to adjust and commit to a pass-first offense.

The Raiders do not have a great secondary and also struggle in getting pressure on the quarterback. This is a game where Taylor can sit in the pocket and throw darts to his receivers, particularly Keenan Allen, who excels at getting separation.

Defensively, the Chargers should have success against Carr and company and are not going to need a huge offensive outburst to outscore the Raiders. However, that does not mean that the team should be complacent on offense.

Attack the Raiders’ defense and let Tyrod Taylor air it out. That is going to be the best path to victory for the Chargers.
