The LA Chargers and Denver Broncos will be battling for second place in the AFC West.

The LA Chargers and Denver Broncos both had a losing record last season and are both primed to improve in 2020. There is only room for one first-place team, though (that being the Chiefs), and the Broncos and Chargers will be battling for second place in the AFC West.

With the NFL Playoffs expanding to seven teams per conference, it absolutely is a possibility that both teams can make the playoffs in 2020. However, I would go out on a limb and say that whichever team finishes second in the division is guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.

The Chargers do not see the Broncos until late in the season, either. The Bolts’ first matchup with the team is on the road in Week 11. Then, the Chargers host the Broncos in Week 16 as part of three consecutive division games to end the season.

The Broncos went 2-0 against the Chargers last year, as the Chargers did not win a single game against their AFC West foes. The team has not had that much success against the Broncos after ripping off a good run against the team in the mid-2000s.

The Chargers are 4-14 in their last 18 games against the Broncos with an all-time record of 52-68-1.

Just as we have with the other 2020 opponents thus far, we are going to be previewing the Broncos by outlining their key additions and subtractions in the offseason as well as how the Chargers can defeat the Broncos.
