The Kansas City Chiefs are the gold standard that the LA Chargers are working towards.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the best team in football and it is sad to admit. While you could make the case for the Baltimore Ravens or San Francisco 49ers or even the New Orleans Saints, the Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl Champions and should be the favorites to win it all again in 2020.

They have the best quarterback in the league that has all the makings of being a franchise quarterback for another decade and a half as well as one of the best supporting cast of weapons around him.

The AFC West is the Chiefs to lose and the LA Chargers almost overcame that hurdle in 2018, when both teams finished with a 12-4 record. The Chiefs are the gold standard that the Chargers are working towards.

The Chargers and Chiefs first square off in Week 2 and then finish the season in Week 17. Perhaps that Week 17 game will feature backups for the Chiefs, as they might just have a top-two seed in the conference locked down by that point.

Regardless, beating the Chiefs is still no easy task and that is evident from the Chargers’ 1-11 record against the team in their last 12 encounters.

Just as we have with all of the Chargers’ out-of-division opponent thus far, we are going to break down the Chiefs’ key additions and subtractions for the 2020 season as well as lay a blueprint to how the Chargers can upset Kansas City with a win.
