From the Miami Dolphins, the LA Chargers steal…

1. 59. Scouting Report. . Tua Tagovailoa. Pick Analysis. QB

Yeah, this is kind of bold. Despite the LA Chargers having Justin Herbert, if given the opportunity, I would steal Tua Tagovailoa from the Miami Dolphins 10 times out of 10. It might not seem like the smartest thing as Tua has not even played a snap and has injury concerns, but who else are you going to pick from Miami?

Heading into the draft, Tua was the quarterback that I undoubtedly wanted to go to the Chargers and while I knew that it was unlikely, I still had hope. I think Tua has a much higher ceiling than Justin Herbert and is even more polished of a quarterback prospect than Joe Burrow.

In this reality, Tua would come to the Chargers and instantly get the starting job, no point in easing him into things like with Justin Herbert. He would then be throwing to the best receiving corps in the league with one of the best pass-catching tight ends and running backs in the NFL.

He would give the team the mobile quarterback that they are trying to transition to while also being a much better passer.

What the Chargers were to do with Herbert in this alternate reality does not matter. Release him, trade him, keep him for a backup, I don’t care. I would be stoked to have Tua in the powder blue.

There was not really anyone else considered except for Tua as the Dolphins do not have a ton of established talent to choose from as is.
