LA Chargers: “Steal a player” series — AFC East edition
By Jason Reed
What could the LA Chargers’ roster look like with some of the AFC East’s top players?
In a new NFL of the future, the LA Chargers get to steal one player from each franchise in the NFL. Which players should be taken from the AFC East teams?
In what has become an ongoing series here at Bolt Beat, we are looking at the best player that the LA Chargers could steal from each NFL team, breaking it down division by division. Today, we take a look at the AFC East.
The rules are pretty simple. We are obviously going to be selecting players that actually fit into what the Chargers are doing and we are assuming that we are getting all of these players on the team. So for example, we would not pick two quarterbacks as one would become the backup.
Without further ado, let’s jump into it.
From the Buffalo Bills, the LA Chargers steal…
The LA Chargers are stealing the player that the Bills just traded for in wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who would turn an already dangerous receiving corps into the best in the league, no questions asked.
The trio of Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Diggs would be the best receiving corps that the NFL has seen in a long time. Both Allen and Diggs are top-10 in the NFL and after a 1,000-yard season, Williams may be well on his way into the top-15 as well.
I thought about taking Tre’Davious White here but I have to remember the other teams in the division and there is a certain someone from another team that plays the same position, so we will have to hold off on cornerback.
Outside of Diggs and White, there is not anyone that is too exciting for the LA Chargers to take from the Bills that would fit a need. Maybe Tremaine Edmunds, but I would still rather have Diggs.
