LA Chargers fantasy football draft or pass, Keenan Allen: Draft

Out of everyone on the LA Chargers offense, the player I feel the best about retaining their current level of play or even improving with Tyrod Taylor under center is Keenan Allen. The skillset that Allen has is going to lead to a lot of receptions for the Bolts this season and I really do think we could see a career year in a contract year for Allen.

It might seem counter-intuitive. The Chargers are moving from a gunslinging quarterback to one that is more conservative that is not afraid to run when needed. The team is almost certainly going to introduce a more run-heavy offense and the passing yards will undoubtedly go down.

However, every receiver has their outlet and Allen is going to be just that. Whereas Philip Rivers was more willing to take the deep shot downfield, Taylor will constantly feed Allen the ball if he is getting separation from his man, which is his best trait.

I think we see a season from Allen that is similar to Michael Thomas last season. I do not think it will be to the level that Thomas was last season, but I think Allen will far and away be the Chargers’ leading receiver and his elite route-running ability will be what opens that up.

Based on how high I am on Keenan Allen, though, you can probably tell where I am going to go with the next fantasy football draft or pass.
