Three free agents on the market still make sense for the LA Chargers.

The LA Chargers are seemingly done making moves this offseason but I would not hold your breath. With $22.3 million remaining in effective cap space, which is the eighth-most of any team in the NFL (per Over The Cap), the Chargers have the wiggle room to make more additions.

There are still the big-name free agents on the market that are going to warrant a multi-year deal. You have the likes of Jadaveon Clowney and Ezekiel Ansah especially who should be signing a multi-year deal with whatever team is interested.

That is not the market that the LA Chargers are in. While the Chargers have the eighth-most cap space, they also have a lot of important free agents next offseason — headlined by Keenan Allen, Joey Bosa and Hunter Henry — that are going to be the priority.

The market that the Chargers are in is the one-year market; the remaining free agents that the team knows likely won’t have a massive impact but could make an impact nonetheless.

As a fan, I would rather see the team spend the money they are allowed to spend on a one-year deal and take a chance on someone rather than just let that money sit.

You could make a case for the Chargers signing a multi-year deal with a free agent if the cost was low enough, but they would have to work it out in a way that does not restrict the team next year (which absolutely is possible).

The free-agent market is not particularly dense at this point in the year, but there are three free agents worth considering.
