2. LA Chargers 2021 NFL Draft needs: Defensive end

The LA Chargers have one of the best pairs of defensive ends in the entire league. There is arguably no team in the league that is better in getting outside pressure to the quarterback than the Chargers and that might not be the reality after the 2020 season.

Both Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa are free agents after the 2020 season and it would not be all that shocking if neither are in Los Angeles in 2021.

Ingram is going to be 32 next offseason and there is no chance that the Chargers pay him what he is making now ($15 million). There is hope that if he performs well this season that the Chargers bring him back on a reduced salary, but if he does perform well, there will be some team that is desperate and willing to pay him more.

So either he takes a step back in production and is not the same Melvin Ingram or he prices himself out of LA, unless he is willing to take a pay cut just to stay with the team that he has spent his entire career with.

Bosa is a completely different situation. He is worth giving a massive contract to, the only question is whether or not the Chargers are going to be able/willing to outbid any other potential teams for his services.

If a contending team is offering more money than the Chargers, especially if the Chargers struggle in 2020, then it is really hard for me to see Bosa returning.
