Last Battle Against Brady?

The Chargers will take on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4 of the season. The Chargers and Buccaneers were the final two teams that Tom Brady was deciding between signing with this offseason. As we all know, he chose the Bucs. While it would have been great for Justin Herbert to learn from one of the all-time greats, the Chargers were able to add multiple veteran pieces and improve some of their weak points.

Brady has always had the Chargers number throughout his career. Their last game came in the 2018 playoffs, where the Patriots won 41-28. The Bucs ended last season with a 7-9 record, with former quarterback Jameis Winston throwing for over 5,000 yards, 33 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.

Tampa Bay’s high-powered offense consists of Brady, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and former Patriot Rob Gronkowski. The Buccaneers also have one of the league’s top run defenses and the NFL’s leader in sacks from a year ago, Shaquil Barrett.

The LA Chargers; last meeting against the Bucs came in 2016 with Tampa Bay getting the win, 28-21. This could very well be Brady’s last game against the Chargers. The way to beat Tom Brady is with pressure.

With the addition of Linval Joseph and Jerry Tillery having a full season under his belt, this should limit the number of double teams to Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram, allowing them to thrive in one-on-one matchups.

Getting a win against Brady for the first time in forever will be something that all Chargers fans would love to see.
