Conclusion: Start Tyrod Taylor

While it may not be the option that most LA Chargers fans would like, it is the best option for the team for next season.

Herbert has the tools to succeed but needs to tighten up on his mechanics and improve his mental aspect of the game. Reading defenses, going through progressions and making better decisions are just a few of the things that Herbert could use some work on. Giving him a year to really work on those flaws and improve his game will be the right decision.

Tyrod Taylor is no slouch. He has done well with decent options around him and could very well be on his way to a career year in 2020. Chargers fans should not be discouraged if he ends up being the starter in Week 1.

Taylor led the Bills to a 22-20 record including one trip to the playoffs. As long as the Chargers are winning games, he will stay as the team’s quarterback. With improvement to the offensive line, new draft picks and a top defense in the league, Taylor could put the Chargers back into playoff contention next season.
