LA Chargers: Ranking all six of the new uniform combinations
By Jason Reed
The LA Chargers revealed the uniforms for the 2020 season and it is safe to say that it lived up to the hype and that the fans are happy. Aside from it being a bit of a letdown when it was revealed on Good Morning Football, you cannot help but be happy with the finished product.
The uniforms have a classic look and went back to the team’s roots with numbers on the helmet. Navy was completely taken out of the primary home and away uniforms, but was reimplemented in a secondary color rush uniform.
All in all, the Chargers are giving us six new uniform combinations. And while the team collectively nailed it as a whole, some combinations certainly are better than others.

6. Powder blue with yellow pants
Let me start this off by saying I like this uniform. There is not a single uniform in here that I dislike, or even have to think about liking, for that matter. Every uniform in here looks great and is still better than most other uniforms.
And it might seem a bit crazy to rank one of the powder blue colorways so low on the list but it has to be done. I just don’t think the power blue and yellow mesh as well as the other combinations that have been revealed. Sue me.
5. White with yellow pants
As you can see, the yellow pants are not my favorite. They look good, and the LA Chargers spicing it up and wearing the yellow pants every so often is not a bad thing in the slightest, I just prefer the non-yellow pants.
4. Powder blue with white pants
Yup, the traditional powder blues come in fourth. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love and adore the powder blue uniforms, but we have already seen this exact colorway done so many times and it isn’t really anything new aside from the helmets, number font and the other minor adjustments that every uniform underwent.
The powder blues already were not my favorite Charger uniform. I love them, and I am going to buy one, but it doesn’t even make the top-three. Shocking, I know.
3. Royal blue color rush (second from right)
The color rush uniforms were my favorite prior to this reveal and they slot in third on my list. Just like the previous rendition, they are absolutely beautiful and are undoubtedly one of, if not the, best color rush uniform that the NFL came out with.
The only other team that even stands close is the New Orleans Saints with the all-white and gold numbers. My only complaint, and why it narrowly fell to the bronze medal, is that it looks a bit Rams-ish with the slightly tweaked yellow. I do wish it was that more golden yellow.
2. Navy blue color rush
These were the uniforms that fans were expected after Joey Bosa hinted at it earlier in the week in an interview on The EndZone and they absolutely do not disappoint. The all-dark colorway is gorgeous with the outlined bolt on the pants and shoulders being an excellent touch.
Weirdly, this is one of those uniforms that I think will look much better on the field than it will on a fan. This probably would be the fourth jersey that I buy, as I do not get the benefit of the football pants and helmet, but as an on-field look, it is the second-best.
1. All-white
There is not a doubt in my mind. The one thing that I wanted leading into this was an all-white uniform with powder blue numbers and the team delivered. This is absolutely going to be the first jersey of the bunch that I purchase and it going to look fantastic in-game.
There is just something about all-white uniforms in football. They are sleek, stylish and I would say the absolute best uniform in all of football.
Even if your power rankings of the new uniforms are different, at least the LA Chargers didn’t mess this up like other teams and came out with something that the fans can actually get excited about.
