3. Darren Sproles

Charger fans might disagree with Darren Sproles being on this list as he was a solid player with the Chargers and really blossomed into the league staple that he has been all decade with the Chargers.

While he had his first good season with the Chargers, most of his career production came outside of the organization that drafted him with a fourth-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.

Sproles’ first season away from the Chargers with the New Orleans Saints was undoubtedly the best of his career. He posted a career-high 603 rushing yards with 710 receiving yards. It would be the only time in his career that he surpassed 1,000 yards from scrimmage. He surpassed 700 yards from scrimmage eight times in his career, only twice with the Chargers.

Five of his seven career punt return touchdowns came away from the Chargers, however, his only two kick-return touchdowns came with the team. All three of his Pro Bowl selections came with the Eagles.

To be fair to Sproles, he had more AV on the Chargers than he had with either the Saints or the Eagles, but in terms of average AV per year, the Saints are far and away the highest team of the three.

Sproles was great, and while he may have contributed more to the Chargers than others on this list, he became an NFL icon because he had nine more years in the league after five years with the Bolts.
