With the 25nd overall pick, the LA Chargers select: Jordan Love, QB, Utah State

The team that we are circling to trade up with in the 2020 NFL Draft is the Minnesota Vikings, who own two late-first-round picks after trading Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills. The 22nd pick might seem a little low for Love, but I really do think that he could fall all the way to the late first-round.

There are not many teams in the league that desperately need a quarterback this year and even the ones that are in a transition year, such as the Jacksonville Jaguars or Oakland Raiders, would be better off using their draft capital to improve the roster and then have the possibility of drafting Trevor Lawrence next year.

With Justin Herbert ranked ahead of Love in nearly every big board, even if there is a team that drafts a quarterback before 25 they will select Herbert. The one team we are jumping in front of with this trade is the New England Patriots, who could be looking to draft a quarterback.

In this trade, the Chargers would be sending the 37th overall pick, a 2021 second-round pick and a 2022 third-round pick. The Atlanta Falcons traded one third-round pick last year to move up 14 spots to the 31st pick while the Redskins sent a future second to move up 20 spots.

The Chargers might not even need that extra pick but that is sprinkled in there to get the 22nd pick instead of the 25th pick, which is important as the Patriots pick 23rd.

And with this, the Chargers get their future quarterback in Love. Love has arguably the most impressive arm in this draft and his athleticism is on par with a modern-day NFL quarterback. With some fine-tuning in one year on the bench and some better fundamentals, Love is a quarterback that the Chargers could really get behind.
