1. Jordan Love, Utah State
Jordan Love has become a prominent name leading up to the draft and there would be a good portion of the fanbase that would love if the LA Chargers selected the quarterback out of Utah State.
The ceiling of Love is exciting as he has really good athleticism and a rocket arm that has drawn some comparisons to Patrick Mahomes. It is going to take a lot to even get close to the same level as Mahomes, but just getting that comparison is a bump.
There was speculation of Love moving into the top-10 but I doubt that would be the case. The Chargers could trade back in the draft and select him in the last first, or more preferably, select him with the sixth pick in the second round.
I know that he has been projected to be a riser in the draft, but it is hard for me to personally see Love going in the first and I think the Chargers can snag him in the early second.
That would allow the team to draft an offensive tackle in the first round to help bolster the line for Taylor. This gives Love, who has the traits but showcased bad decision-making with 16 interceptions last season, a season to grow and learn under Taylor and iron out some of the kinks.
Love is not as surefire of a prospect as the top quarterbacks in the draft, but he is someone who could absolutely be the best quarterback from the draft in five years if he is put in the right system with the right coaching.
