Finally, a mock draft that does not have the LA Chargers taking Justin Herbert with the No. 6 overall pick.

Daniel Jeremiah recently put out a mock draft on NFL.com and in that draft, he has the Chargers going in an entirely different direction than quarterback. Instead of selecting Herbert, Jordan Love or any other passer, Jeremiah has the Chargers taking offensive lineman Mekhi Becton.

Though the Chargers would still need to look elsewhere for a quarterback, it’s hard to argue with the selection of Becton, who was already a top 10 prospect before turning every single head at the combine last week.

At 6-foot-7 and 364 pounds, Becton is an athletic beast of a man, but all of that was evident. Then he ran a 5.11-second 40-yard dash and for a man his size, that’s just not natural.

The Chargers would be getting arguably the best offensive tackle in this draft. He is an incredible run blocker who can uproot guys due to his incredible strength. He still needs polish as a pass protector but the ceiling for Becton is up there.

For the Chargers fans that are banging the table for an offensive lineman, there is literally nothing to complain about with Becton.

Most mock drafts have had the Chargers selecting Herbert with their first-round pick because the team needs a long-term replacement for Philip Rivers. Some fans have not been sold on Herbert, but his performance at the combine was tremendous.

Still, Jeremiah feels that Herbert will still be on the board when the Chargers pick, according to this draft, and they pass him over. Herbert then slides all the way down to the New England Patriots at No. 23.

Wouldn’t that be something?
