New Orleans Saints

The Chargers will be matched up against the NFC South next season in inter-conference games, meaning they will also battle the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Those matchups will bring the likes of Julio Jones and Christian McCaffrey along with several other talented players, but the most intriguing matchup is definitely the one with the Saints.

These two teams will always be connected because of one guy and that is Drew Brees. Recently, Brees announced that he will return for another NFL season at 41 years old to quell the rumors of retirement.

Unless these two teams reach the Super Bowl, this will almost assuredly be the last time that Brees faces his former team. In the case of the Saints, they will likely be a favorite to do just that as they are coming off winning the NFC South division but had their Super Bowl hopes crushed by the Minnesota Vikings.

This game will be played at the Superdome and will be a massive challenge for the Chargers, who have not beaten the Saints in New Orleans since September 1997.

At least as things stand right now with the teams where they currently are, this should be one of the most challenging games on the Chargers’ 2020 schedule.
