Chargers vs. Dolphins: Week 4 open thread
By Travis Wakeman
Looking to bounce back from two tough defeats in a row, the Los Angeles Chargers face the winless Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Though the Dolphins are bad and may not even be trying that hard to win, the Chargers have never fared well in Miami and come into this game with a myriad of injuries. Still, Miami has been outscored 133-16 in three games and are a team the Chargers should handle and dispose of quickly.
Top storylines
- Melvin Gordon is back and will play in this game. How much he will play remains to be seen, but without Justin Jackson in uniform, he will likely have a bigger role than originally planned.
- The Chargers tend to play down to the level of their opponents, but how long will they allow a poor Dolphins team to hang around?
- This could be a good opportunity for the Chargers to get in some of the players further down the depth chart as well as a chance to get the rookies, specifically Jerry Tillery and Nasir Adderley more involved. Will Andre Patton and Troymaine Pope make some plays?
- Michael Badgley is out again. Ty Long will handle punting and kicking chores in the game.
Can the Chargers get out of Miami, where they haven’t won a game since the early 1980s, with a win? This is a great chance for the team to get back on the winning track and get some of their more important players the rest they need to nurse nagging injuries.
Kickoff is scheduled for 10:00 am PT and the game will be televised on CBS. This thread will serve as your chance to chat it up with Chargers fans and talk about the game.
