In week one, the Chargers suffered a slew of injuries during the game, yet they overcame them to beat the Indianapolis Colts. How will the more serious injuries impact the Chargers game plan against the Detroit Lions?
The Los Angeles Chargers were able to overcome some major obstacles to pull off the win against the Indianapolis Colts in week one. Now, they will be faced with some similar challenges against the Detroit Lions.
Last week, Hunter Henry, Mike Williams, Michael Davis, Damion Square, Melvin Ingram, Adrian Phillips, and Desmond King all went down at some point due to injury. While fortunately most of those players are fine, a few will be missing from their regular spots this week.
How will the Chargers overcome their existing injuries from last week and take advantage of the Lions’ injuries this week?
Here is the most recent game status for this week:

Chargers Injuries
Mike Williams, Wide Receiver – Questionable (Knee)
Williams’ knee injury appears to be a bit more significant than initially thought after the week one game, as Williams did not practice until Friday of this week.
Even if he is able to play, expect him to take limited snaps. While not quite as talented, Dontrelle Inman is similar to Williams in that he is a tall receiver familiar with Phillip Rivers. While Williams is an important piece for the Chargers, expect them to be fine for a week with Inman and Travis Benjamin stepping in. Andre Patton has also been activated from the practice squad as extra insurance.
