The Los Angeles Chargers will have a number of excellent draft options at No. 28 in the 2019 NFL Draft. But who is the favorite among fans?

The Chargers are less than two weeks away from one of the most important drafts under General Manager Tom Telesco, needing a few key pieces to finally bring the team to the Super Bowl. Much debate has been had over which player the franchise should take at No. 28, their first selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. Do they take a tackle, at a position of need? Do they take a safety to pair with Derwin James? Could they grab a receiver to fill the spot Tyrell Williams vacated? There are a few positions of need, but given the fall of an incredibly talented player, the team could opt to go best player available.

Here at Bolt Beat, fans were given the chance to vote in an online Twitter poll for their favorite selections. 16 players were placed in a bracket-style format without rankings to create more interesting match ups. These players may not all have first-round grades, but are options that could potentially be there in the first round when the Chargers are on the clock. Some may have to fall to be there at No. 28, some will all but likely be there, and others are potential reaches.

The contestants:

  • QB: Drew Lock
  • WR: N’Keal Harry, A.J. Brown
  • OL: Dalton Risner, Chris Lindstrom, Kaleb McGary
  • S: Nasir Adderley, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Deionte Thompson, Juan Thornhill
  • CB: Rock Ya-Sin, Deandre Baker
  • IDL: Christian Wilkins, Dexter Lawrence, Jerry Tillery, Jeffery Simmons
