Los Angeles Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs – Bold Predictions

The Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs open up the season tomorrow! What are your predictions for the game?

We get a full Sunday of football tomorrow, so we better make some bold predictions going into this game. Going into the game, the Kool Aid is flowing and there are number of experts that are picking the Chargers to take the division and there are a few of them that have selected us to get into the big dance.

It all starts tomorrow and we have to live up to the hype. That hasn’t been something that we have done well in the past, especially starting out the season. Can we get out of the blocks quickly this year and sustain it throughout the year?

It will be fun to see and it starts with the division rival. Here are some predictions that I have going into the game.

Derwin James gets his first interception of his careeer. 

We will all have our eyes on the rookie and I expect him to shine in his first game of the year. Playing against a young quarterback, James will get his hands on the football and start the year off living up to the hype. We will lose our minds and call him the best thing since Rodney Harrison. Eric Weddle?

Austin Ekeler will score 2 touchdowns.

Melvin Gordon will get his yards. He will pick up some big chunks, but the finisher will be Austin Ekeler. Ekeler has a knack for finding the hole and breaking tackles to get into the end zone. One will be through the ground and one will be through the air.

Patrick Mahomes will toss 2 interceptions in the game, but will dazzle with a deep toss to Tyreek Hill.

Tyreek Hill scares me. He has crazy speed and our corners will hold him down for most of the day, but he will break loose for one deep one down the field and Mahomes has the cannon to get it out there. Mahomes will also show that he is a little green at the position and toss a couple of interceptions.

Caleb Sturgis makes all his field goals. 

It would be wrong to go into the first game of the year and not talk about the field goals. I think Sturgis is solid and helps us get over our PTSD of the past.

Melvin Ingram dominates on defense, 2 sacks

Without Joey Bosa on the field, Ingram still makes a statement and gets to the quarterback for a couple of sacks. Have you watched Ingram in the preseason? He seems better than every!

Chargers 24 – Chiefs 13

The Chargers are going to leave this game with the win. It is not going to be easy, but the Chargers have too much talent and have a different mindset going into this season. They start out the season with a big win.
